Hogenakkal Trip

This is second in the row for my waterfalls trip. Recently I went to Hogenakkal Falls, which is located on the borders of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. It is considered as the Niagara Falls of India. It took roughly 3.5 hrs from Bangalore to reach there. It was an off season trip so, the water was not much; on the bright side, we got to see the relief cut of the rocks shaped by waters over thousands of years.

This is how Hogenakkal Falls looks like in full force.

The Debate

I remember (not so) long back I used to have very deep philosophical discussions  (or we thought so..) with two of my best friends. We used to end up talking till the wee hours of dawn.

This particular day, we started with the most discussed topic perhaps since the moment when people started debating- Existence of God. Each of us trying to put forth our idea, mixed with what we have learnt from our spiritual guides, what we have read from the books and various theories in physics, astronomy, and so on.

Somehow, out of the blue, an image flashed in front of my eyes and disappeared as soon as it came. A realization dawned on me, it felt profound. The image was of a cell, which zoomed out to show other cells in the vicinity, all forming organs, organ system, and finally a human. Wasn’t this a perfect example of the souls as cells, and the collective souls, becoming a single consciousness, rising to a much finer vibration, called God?

Aren’t the souls, like cells, experiencing life as we know, having a life of their own, though being guided by higher function that governs their movement, roles, death? In that case, it might well stand true that God is in each us, and we are God. Why don’t we push the boundaries further, and include everything in the universe, and think about the possible life in other planets, and parallel universes. Also add the emotions, creativity, and abstract stuff. do not forget to look at the elaborate setup called universe, and the space, vacuum, where everything is in constant motion, the very dynamics of evolution. don’t you feel the whole stuff alive?

Whatever we experience, we enrich ourselves, which in turn, enriches the whole unity Consciousness, and vice versa.

How do you feel about God now?

Mind boggling, eh? Perhaps it would be an understatement…

Reminiscence

It’s fascinating how a picture triggers a long lost memory; though eternally frozen in a time frame it has the power to rekindle that particular moment of your life. You smell the beach’s salty air, or feel the mountain wind on your face, the rough stone bench in the park, you can hear the laugh of your beloved, remember the look on their faces… everything, in detail, .. just by looking at a picture…
